Some things I’ve made
Here is a noncomprehensive list of stuff I’ve made over the past few years that I am either proud of, am okay sharing publicly, or both.
Writing
- quarter—mile is an essay project I am cowriting with Jordan Gonen.
- I also currently run three other essay projects: one is called Cities, where I write about cities I love, like, and don’t like. Another is called Beautiful, where I write about things I find beautiful (hence the name). The final one is called Vignettes, which is a series of thoughts and prose. This is a work website and those are personal essays so I won’t link to them from here, but I do have a lot of fun writing them.
- I have written probably close to ~600,000 words freelance. It’s not actually a great metric or anything—they could be shitty words for all you know—but it’s something.
- I have held down three (3!) real full-time jobs where I ‘led’ writing in-house. All startups. Two of them still exist, so hey.
- I have written ~300 short stories, 20 of which are live on my personal writing site.
- I wrote a novella in 2022, but did not publish it.
Other
- I built a website that asks you a series of interesting questions and then tells you where to visit next in Europe. (Link coming soon.)
- I built a moderately successful piano YouTube channel (~10M+ views, had a lot of fun). I wrote almost all of the covers.
- Launched and ran a weather blog, a tech blog, a fly fishing blog, a travel blog, a sports blog, and more.
- Ran a fly fishing YouTube channel a long time ago. Got recognized once or twice on the river.
