Work

I usually tell people that my best work is the work I’m about to do for them. That’s entirely true, because I aim for every new project I take on to be the best work I’ve ever done.

But, I should probably share a few things here. Now I could blast you with a resume-like wall of logos or a list with company names. For example, I’ve worked with Julian Shapiro (who helped build Webflow, Demand Curve, and other stuff), Shahed Khan (Loom co-founder), James Clear (the guy who wrote Atomic Habits), and more.

But that just makes it sound like I just want to impress you and don’t want to actually show you anything.

So, here are a few things I’m proud of.

Not all of them are work-related, because sometimes you write a landing page and the client changes it twenty times and then you don’t want to share it anymore.

Long-form* —

+ Why internet should be a utility.

+ Why I like Paris.

+ On artists and follow-ups.

+ On Charitable Remainder Trusts.

+ How to build a Shopify store (co-written)

+ A short story about coffee & dreams

+ How the Aral Sea dried up

*This is a random-ish sampling of some essays I’ve written I like. You’ll notice a lot of them are personal essays. While I have written ~1,000+ essays in my lifetime for clients, often the ones I come back to are the ones I wrote for myself—so those are the ones I’m sharing here. I can share more client work if you’d like it, though.

Short-form* —

+ Atlas
+ Legacy
+ Compound
+ Rejigg (homepage)
+ Archive
+ unspun
+ Givebutter (most of the homepage)
+ Uncommonly Bold (this is my project)

*This is some copy I’ve written that’s currently live. Lots of copy I wrote >1-2 years ago doesn’t exist any more, because startups change, and grow, and fail, et cetera.
